Welcome to Cake Central. A royal icing flower or decoration lasts nearly 'forever', unless it gets wet. they also do better if protected from bright light.

I've had some royal flowers in a plastic box for about 8 years...my first painted pansies. I don't want to throw them away. They lose their color over time but I think they are still edible. As long as you allow them to fully dry and keep them dry they can last a long, long time. My pansies might turn up in an archaeological dig 1000 years from now icon_biggrin.gif

Forever! As long as no moisture or dust meet up with them! Scary isn't it?

Yep, long as you take good care of them they will pretty much last forever.

I always have Royal Icing flowers on hand. As long as they are stored in a dark dry place like a closet they will keep. I store mine in opaque Rubbermaide Serving containers. The colors last longer.
