I am making the following cake. I can't tell if it has fondant strips on it or if the lines are just impressions made with a fondant cutter. What are your opinions?

Hard to tell but from the edges you can sort of see on the right hand side, I would guess that they are individual strips of fondant. HTH

That'd be my guess as well, strips of some sort for sure. Fondant would do it! Now let me say....preeettty caaake!

To me it looks from the top edges that the sides are completely covered in fondant and then the lines were imprinted - could even do it with a ruler.

??

Hi, I've done something similar and I did a fairly thick fondant layer on it, made lines up the side either with a ruler or fondant wheel and then ran my thumb up the line to smooth the line and it kind of indents it so it looks like strips. If you get what I mean!!

I do understand. I did cut several fondant strips already. I will try to roll out the fondant and put it on the side of the cake and do the roller thing.

Thanks everyone!!!

I'll post a picture of the completed cake when I'm done.
