I find internet advertising to be more cost effective...but that's just me. Anybody else?
There are tons of wedding sites that allow free advertising, google and yahoo local also.

i advertised on yellow pages online for free. you only get the one area you are in, but free is free. i also did superpages.com for free.
I don't know how much it is so I'm not sure it is worth it.
I do know that when looking for any type of service I try the internet first for somewhere local, if I'm not happy with the results I check the yellow pages.
They wanted 345.00 a year for a good size space with plenty of words under the wedding catagory + my web site... and also a two line entry under bakeries with my web site also. I could pay it in parts at 129.00 3 times or 50.00 a month for a year.
This is the local printing book not the huge yellow pages. Not bad, but I wonder just how many calls people get from the yellow apges.
Anymore free internet ideas? How do you set those up???
I will not do a yellow pages ad. I had one years ago, and the only calls I got were people wanting me to donate money.
Today's brides are searching for vendors via the internet, not the yellow pages. I noticed the other day that my new yellow pages book was still in the plastic bag it came in .... and had been laying in the same place for months.
Here are a few that have free advertisement ( they also offer paid packages but there free ones are not bad)

I got a quote by our local yellow pages for $33/month just for an internet ad. I agree that I don't think brides go to the yellow pages for vendors. I think brides shop around bridal shows and really listen to word of mouth.
I personally hardly ever use the yellow pages. I use the internet a lot more to find things.
~ vrmcc1 ~ Thanks for that list of free advertisement.
I'm not a business, so can't respond to that part of it, but I can tell you we toss our yellow pages directly into the recycling bin when we get it. We never, ever use it. I think this is becoming more and more true of many people- so it might not be your best bet!

I say no the the yellow book. I dont even know where my phone book is at. The Internet is my phone book. If you want business, then invest in a good web site.
