I am looking to bake a giant cookie cake for my husbands birthday. I was wondering if anyone has ever baked one of these and if so, any tips for me? icon_smile.gif

Well I don't know how giant you are going to make it. I made one today that fit on a 12" round cake board. In my experience (and don't ask me how I know this icon_redface.gif ) don't push the dough all of the way to the edge of the pan. It can and will over flow!! They are pretty easy to do. I used the wilton pan. I have also used a stone from pampered chef. Both worked equally well. Good luck and don't forget to post your pictures!!

I've never had one overflow... maybe the consistency of the cookie? But all the ones I've made have been fine! I would cook at 325 instead of 350 though so it doesn't dry out too much. Hope it works well for you! icon_lol.gif

I am going to be using a 14" pizza pan to make the cookie cake on...I saw something on the food tv site that said to use the pizza pan (is that the technical term, pizza pan??). I've never made a cookie cake before so I am very worried it won't turn out right. I have been hleping my mother inlaw with cakes and they turn out fine but the past 3 times I have made cookies at my house they have been SOOOO bad. I am too scared to start it right now lol icon_cry.gif

Welcome Renee, I'm sorry I wasn't home to help you with your cookie cake, but Justin said it was so good, so it sounds like you did just fine! What recipe did you use? The recipe briansbaker posted sounds really good and I would like to try it sometime. Thanks briansbaker!
