I have to make a birthday cake for a coworkers 9 year old son. He is into science and she wants a science theme cake. HELP!!!!!!
There is a really cute cartoon called "Dexter's Labratory" where Dexter is a scientist. Maybe do a search for images of that show or something? I bet he'd know what it was. You can always do a FBCT of science stuff.... beakers with smoke coming out, bunsen burner, a guy with safety goggles and a white coat. Just a few ideas! I'm sure someone else will have more ideas.
Here is a link for a great cake.

Modify it a bit for a "regular" science cake.
Here are a few more ideas, maybe a little dorky!

Or do a solar system?
Beakers, and test tubes, and petri dishes, oh my!
What type of science does he like? Astronomy? telescopes and planets.
Medicine? Microscopes, periodic table of the elements, lab coat, stethoscope.
Start with his likes in that particular interest and you're on your way!
