I'm making a "pea in the pod" baby shower cake next week. I want to make the pod topper using styrofoam covered with fondant & gumpaste. I think this will allow it to hold its shape better, and I won't have to use so much fondant. I've never done this before, and was wondering if the fondant will stick to the foam or if I need to use some sort of gum glue.
Any tips/advice much appreciated!

I recently made a dummy cake with fondant and I used piping gel. Worked great just spread a thin layer on the styrofoam and covered it with fondant. HTH

Spritz the styrofoam with water and lay the fondant on top of it. It will stick.
