Man I've missed alot. I haven't been getting email notifications and it still said I was watching for replies. (Strange) and I've been a little busy to check the forums.
acookieobsession--cute turkey's and pilgrams.
momsandraven--your hand cookies are adorable.
christy_ob--great thinking about a healthy set of lungs and good use of the heart cutter.
codegirl--good job on the football and the helmets.
I made some teapot cookies for DD bday this past weekend and put the rest of the dough in the freezer so hopefully I can make some for thanksgiving.

Neat ,your turkeys look so 3D. I love your little people too. Are your cookies peanut butter I see that is the pictures title. My kids are always want me to try different cookies for cut outs. But I wasnt sure how they would turn out.
Thanks! Yes they are the NFSC that I added some peanut butter to. All the frosting is regular BC with added peanut butter and a little salt. The cutter was a maple leaf form used to make shaped pancakes.
YUm the peanut butter sounds great! Do you think it made them spread more? I love the maple leaf. I didnt even notice that ,I agree really clever.
No spread at all. I did however, roll them too thick.
I got the idea from someone here on CC. The dough tastes a little bland by itself (no salty taste like my folks prefer), but with the slightly salted frosting they're being gobbled down as we speak.
Since you iced with BC did they crust over enough so they didn't get messed up? I hope I made sense. I was gonna put bc on my teapot cookies but the kind that I used on the cake didn't really crust. New recipe, so I used a modified royal. I do like how the BC looks on the cookies. I haven't found a BC recipe that I really like yet. I sure hope I can get some cookies made.
I finished icing them just before I posted yesterday. I went to check the frosting just now, and it looks like it will stay the consistancy of fudge. NOT stackable.
I put some of the kids in the freezer last night to see how it freezes, and frozen it's hard like royal. I would imagine it will thaw to the fudgy consistancy.
Very tasty, however...
7yyrt- I love your cookies! Mmmm...peanut butter... YUM. That is definitely going on my 'must try' list. Do you remember how much peanut butter you added to the recipe?
I just love when people use cookie cutters in new ways like you did. Great job!
Great Thanks 7yyrt for the quick responce about the spread I will have to give them a whirl. We love peanut butter.
I must say "I HATE THESE COOKIES!!!" I can't quit eating them! I put them in the oven until I could bag them and you open it up and a cloud of peanut butter smell comes out....OMG! Thank you to the person who inspired with the thread about adding flavors to the NFSC.
They're better the next day...
I think I added between 1/4 and 1/2 cup Jif peanut butter to a batch, about the same in the BC (along with a few shakes of sea salt.) It's a good thing there is room in the freezer...
Oh how cute, smiling gingerbread turkeys! Their tail feathers look like little hearts!
When you put them in your photos on the 1st, please put a bigger picture if you can, people will want to save those.
Thanks! I thought they turned out nice. I also made some butter cookies just like them. I will post a big one after Nov. 1st
