I know this is probably a stupid question........but can anyone share their tricks for getting the top layer on a large cake. Anything 1/2 sheet or larger....and I tear the heck out of it when flipping it over.

HELP!!

Deb

I dont' "flip" my top layer anymore. Flip it onto a cardboard so you can just slide it onto the bottom layer of the cake. (place cardboard on the cake while it's sitting on the cooling rack. Grab both and flip.)

When I first started cakes and didn't know any better, I did the big flip onto the bottom layer. As I look bad, it was such a nightmare!!! It was a V-8 moment when I figured out the slide thing.
