Hello everyone! I have a friend asking for a 60th anniversary cake for her grandparents. She wants it simple but of course elegant, preferably layered for 100 to 125 people. 60th anniversaries are diamonds but I don't know that I can incorporate anything to look like diamonds. I found this cake by itsasweetthing which I think is elegant but I don't know what I could replace the silver dots with. Anyone have any suggestions????? Something completely different...anything??

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I actually used this design and make fondant dots with silver luster dust on them.

Here's my version:

I am assuming that you don't want the silver balls because they don't match diamond theme? You can always just do icing dots, or what I think might be cool, is something like little rhinestones--except that I don't know of anything rhinestone-ish that is edible. Maybe little tiny gumpaste or fondant flowers dusted with pearl luster? You can get pearlized dragees (the little ball things) that might match the theme more too. Good Luck, I'm sure whatever you do will be great!

Could you just use piping gel and disco dust (or pixie dust??) to give the EFFECT of diamonds? And the use a rhinestone topper?

Here's a link where you can buy edible gems.
