I'm also a member of the fabulous 40's club! I'm 41 and so happy about it. I wouldn't go back to my 20's for anything (did a lot of dumb things!). I've only been decorating since my wilton classes this summer.
I am 21 with 35 years experience (that makes me 56). I have just been decorating since Mar. 06. I love it, am learning more on here than most of my Wilton Classes.
Karen,
I hear you. I started decorating in March of this year, too, and while I enjoyed my classes and got a good foundation out of them, this site has taught me so much more. I probably would have lost interest to some extent if I didn't have all of this motivation staring me in the face everyday!

I just turned 39. My how the years are flying by! I started decorating in April. I wanted to be able to do b-day cakes for my kids. They're 2 & 4. I love it so much, I've started baking for others.
I'm 47, ouch, that is hard to say, I mean type....darn those years keep catching up with me. I took the Wilton course in 2003, but have only been really practicing this last year.
I just turned 33 last month.
I have been decorating cakes since 1997, when I made my first Winnie the Pooh cake, with canned frosting!! I've come a long way since then.
Hi there!!! I'm just 22 years old... I like to make cookies and cakes with all my specialty.... I like this site....

Did a decorating course (buttercream, kinda the equivalent of Wilton 1 when i was around 20 years old), and learnt to use fondant and gumpaste 2+ years ago.

mbelgard - when in May? Mine is the 22nd.
The 14th.
mine is may the 9th.
Ok I'll join this fun thread. I am 43 feel older body wise. I have a almost 16 yr old and an 8 yr old. They keep me going. So people always think I am younger than my sisters. I am the oldest ( they don't like it much) I have been cooking since around age 10. Baking as a hobby. Started classes in this last spring. Like the rest of you in my 20's I was crazy to. So 40's are good. Happy birthday to everyone who has them coming up. Mine is next Aug. 13th. I also agree this has been an awesome learning and friendly site. I have some new friends and have learned alot. What else can you ask for
Hey! Im 34 and just found out my son is going to make me a grandma..
(whole other thread I know!!!) And my son is only 16...
Congratulations, briansbaker!
(BTW...I can honestly say you are not the youngest grandma I have ever hear of! There was a girl that went to school with me, she had a baby as a freshman in HS (14!), and her daughter had a baby when she was 17! She was only 31 and a grandma! At that rate...she could be a great grandma by the time most people are having their first grandchildren!!!)
