I've been purchasing hy-ratio shortening from my local cake supply store and it's great. I inquired about the brand name because it wasn't listed on the container. It only said hy-ratio. I was told that the brand is Hy-mo. Has anyone ever heard of this brand???? Like I said, it's really great shortening but I was expecting a brand name like Sweetex, etc but got the name Hy-mo. Thanks

Sometime it's just the stores generic brand name. Like I buy DDA Hi-ratio shortening from my local cake supply store and they also sell Sweetex but at a higher rate for a smaller portion. Sorry for the run-on sentence. icon_redface.gif

DDA hi-ratio is made by Dawn Foods:
(Definitely, not a generic brand.)
