So this is my christening cake trial number 2. Was thinking I could save the bath figure for the real one. Does it look enough like a baby?

This would be the top tier. The bottom tier will be blue as well and I am planning on piping some bubbles of icing on and overflowing the bath.

I want to put a sign in front of the bath saying "God Bless Quinlan" and thought I could do it out of chocolate. Would this be too much? What if I piped chocolate balls using #1 tip around the base of both tiers to tie it together? Or maybe I should just stick to blue and white??

I used buttercake with buttercream and jam filling throught the 4 layers. How long would a cake like this last?

Oh too many questions!

I like the idea of tying both tiers together with a chocolate border. Especially since you are planning to make the sign out of chocolate. icon_smile.gif

If it was me, I'd just go with blue and white. I think it looks more babyish(sp). You could do the letters in white and brush with some super pearl luster dust ,and I'd brush the bubbles with that too to give them a good shine! Good work, can't wait to see the finished cake!
