Does anyone have a good source for ordering lucite or acrylic board - 1/2in thick. I need ovals, circles and hexagon shapes.

Thanks!

I did not find any websites that sells them individually.
How about just going to the hardware store and get it cut in circles or to the size you want ?

I use plexiglass to roll out my Fondant and I got it from
Orchard Supply Hardware. icon_smile.gif

Here are a couple of sources:

Tap Plastics will custom cut shapes or add holes for you (extra charge applies) and their shipping was fairly quick when I had an order. They now carry larger circles and under the "new" products menu they have simple cake stands. I've since found a local shop that carries the same products.

Really nice acrylic bases but I would be wary of a very heavy cake with these - they are not cheap either:

Hey, Cakebox!

Thanks for the information on Tapp Plastics. I have been seeking acrylic rods, and they have them cut to order!

This helps a lot!  I do a lot of odd size cakes (current fave is the 7 inch round) -- this will help a lot!  Thanks for sharing! :D

Just ordered an acrylic round and square to try the upside-down icing method from a store in Texas.  Fingers crossed.

I ordered from here: http://www.delviesplastics.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DPI&Category_Code=Acrylic_Disks

I ordered from 4"-12" round and square.  All really nice.  They will cut to your specific size.

Not sure what TAP is like online, but I got info from a local store and they wanted a couple hundred bucks for cut to order acrylic discs.  Um, no.  I probably spent $50 total for all the above with shipping.

You can also get them from:  Barb at [email protected].  Custom sizes in circles, squares and rectangles.  Two instructors, Mayen from Way Beyond Cakes at facebook and Kara from Sift by Kara uses them.   It's a Mom and Pop business.

You can also get the Acrylic Disks from CakeSafe, check them out here: https://www.cakesafe.com/products/buttercream-acrylic-disks

You can order straight from their site, they have pretty good prices and quick customer service!
