My soon to be 10 year old ds has recently started bmx racing and is addicted. His birthday is in October and I want to make some kind of bmx racing cake. I am new to cake decorating so I figure I better start planning now lol icon_biggrin.gif . I did a search on here but came up empty. I don't know if I should make an actual bmx bike cake or a rectangle cake like a bmx race track and find a little bmx toy bike to put on it. Anyone have any pictures or ideas for this? Thanks!

I am sending you a link to the BMX track near us. I think the first picture would make a great drawing on the cake or if you scroll down it shows the track. I think that would be great too and pretty easy to build the cake up..use cookie crumbs for the dirt (vanilla wafers or oreo or a combination of both), then add the little finger bikes. The only thing is they wouldn't have riders on them. My grandson doesn't race but rides the parks...I know the passion they have for this sport. Have fun with the cake.
