I am doing some cupcakes and was wondering what tip I should use to get that great swirled look! If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Cake_momma---

Question: what do you mean by "swirled"? With ridges in it (look at the ads on this site for Halloween items ... do you want that kind of "swirled" look to your cupcakes' icing?)? If that's the case, then I usually use a VERY LARGE (think industrial-sized) star tube. I don't know the number, but the opening is about 1/2" - 3/4" across.

Hope this helps,

Odessa

I just did this for the first time yesterday. This is what I did:

Get a piece of plastic wrap to lay flat on the counter. Put a glob of color #1 on the wrap, in sort of a rectangle. Keep some nearly touching a straight edge of the wrap.

Put an identical glob of color #2 icing right on top of color #1.

Roll up the plastic wrap and drop in to the bag with a star tip.

When you pipe a circle shape around the cupcake, the colors will appear to be swirled.
