I would love any advice on how to make a cupcake cake. I am new to cake decorating, but would like to try this new style. Thanks!

I do mine like this:
I sell by number of cupcakes, not by design, and I arrange them like the picture so I don't have to waste too much icing. I dabb a little icing on the bottom of the cupcakes that are on the corner just they don't slide of the board. After arranging them I frost them as any cake, but I like to make swirls on the icing not leave it smooth. Then you can decorate as you want to and add a border at the end. Hope this can help you.

I made my first one a couple of weeks ago and it was much easier than I imagined. I used the icer tip, but I had so much icing and felt like I would have used less on a regular cake. I like the idea of the CCC, don't get me wrong, I was just surprised at the amount of icing on the cupcakes and I had people scraping off icing, even those who like the icing.

I only glued "iced" down the cupcakes on the outside.

I will do it again if I need to, but I might ice the CCC my regular way.
