I am attempting to make a side piece for a guitar that is nice and shiny, I printed off a pulled sugar recipie but am not getting it right, I don't have a candy thermometer so I know that is half my problem, it isnt thickening up, what do I do??????

It takes a really long time and without a candy thermometer, I think you are going to have a difficult time knowing exactly when it's done....candy is so tricky that way....sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanx anyhow guys, went ahead and went with fondant, will post pix Sunday. I really need to leave myself time to practice more.

i am also sorry to say that you definatly need a candy thermometer.. just a couple degrees high or low can ruin the recipe. i am sure your fondant turned out wonderful tho thumbs_up.gif
