My bride is requesting a whipped icing on the grooms cake, you know, the kind like you get at the grocery store?

What recipie do you all recommend. This cake has to travel 2 hours in the back of my Mini Van to St Louis. If this needs to refridgerated I can put the cake on an ice rack for the trip. I am doing a guitar cake in it.
Thanks Heather

If you can give me your e-mail i can pm you one I have that is pretty good, but I think most all whipped icing will have to be kept cool.

The following recipe was posted on another thread by Lilscakes and it sounded good!

2 lbs. or 1 kg. bag of confectioners sugar
1 pkg dream whip ( I used an 85 gm. pkg...sorry Canadian pkgs. marked in metric, but the package was 1 envelop from a 2 envelop box)
2 cups crisco shortening
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. clear vanilla
1 tbsp. clear corn syrup

whip until fluffy. No need for refrigeration, but will keep in the fridge as well. Great taste and crusts well.

Good luck & happy baking
