LOL. I live in Hurlock which is about 15 minutes away from Seaford. Well, how can I say this....restaurants in Seaford...there are a few that are all next to the Super Walmart. As for anything else out there, I havent seen it!!! That is all on 13. You have Pizza Hut, Friendlys, Mc'D's, Applebees. Im not sure about anything else. You can PM Ohmygoodies and ask her cause I know she goes over there a lot to get cigarettes cheaper. There is Dover Downs which is not too far. Unless you know of a good seafood restaurant I would suggest eating in Salisbury instead. More to choose from, big shopping malls, etc.

Hi Bashevita! Great to see yet another MD'er around here icon_wink.gif

I visit Seaford once a week for my cig run icon_wink.gif and I have to be totally honest... there isn't much appealing stuff in Seaford. The surrounding areas are wonderful though.

Dover isn't TOO far from Seaford, maybe about 45 minutes or so depending on traffic. Salisbury (MD) isn't too far either (in the opposite direction from Dover) and both have far more to offer then Seaford.

I live in Easton Md which is approx 30 minutes from Weirkd and 45 minutes from Seaford. I have a friend that lives in Seaford and as stated I've traveled there lots of times. There is a place not too far from there that has an OK sit down buffet I believe it's still called Banaza which is one of the one onlys left over this way lol. Last time I was in there it was just OK... that was a while back because you could still smoke in there lol...

I would suggest for attractions and such vacationing things... Head to Ocean City, Salisbury, and Dover. In Dover you have the mall, Sam's Club, Super Walmart right next to Sam's so it's bigger then the other Super's icon_wink.gif, Chuck E Cheeses, and a few other hot spots like the Dover Down's Hotel, Track and Casino, Red Lobster and Olive Garden and Target and a few other nice stores including but not limited to..... TOYS R US lol.

Ocean City... it's a given what's there icon_wink.gif Great place for the kids! I hear they've just opened up a second Jolly Roger park on the out-skirts of OC before you get into all the congested stuff lol.

Salisbury, you have the mall, and some really nice resturants at the mall like Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Oh and can't forget out of the way there is a Toys R Us lol...

Also close by Seaford is Harrington. Not sure exactly how far but maybe about the same distance as Dover... 45 ish minutes. (towards Salisbury and OC) In Harrington I don't think there is much to see because it's such a small town... but one main attraction is the Harrington Race Way - I think that's what it's properly called.... it's a casino and a pretty nice one, and they also have a festival each year but sadly you've just missed that was a very big carnival with concerts and such huge fair! lol.

Depending on what type of things you're looking for to do... in Easton we've just had a major opening... A new Omish Farmer's Market.... (can you tell we're a very small town with not much happenin? lol) It's a pretty nifty place where you can shop for household goods such as furniture, knick knacks and bakery items such as breads and such... other Omish made/home made foodage such as cheesecakes, candies, etc. and can also enjoy a nice home style meal for lunch icon_wink.gif they are only open Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays though.

Hmmm let's see.... both Dover and Salisbury malls have excellent movie theaters and tons of great shops in the malls, and I believe Dover is expanding or renovating a few of their stores.. or are finished doing so.

But as for Seaford it's self... there isn't very much to offer... Walmart, Sears, Fashion Bug, Hallmark, Shoe Show, a few other odds and ends stores I've never been to or can't remember their names... GameSpot (great for kids lol - game store). There is one resturant that looks half way decent.... it's just as you enter Seaford business district from my end of town and it's called Sal's Italian Resturant... I hear it's pretty decent. There is a very large Flea market in Seaford just outside of town and another one a little further down in Laurel. Both are fairly decent. Not much of the stuff I'm looking for but maybe a nice place to spend a rainy day.

If you'd like, PM me and I can give you some more intimate details on the area and can even contact my friend who lives there and get the low down on some places I may not be familier with.

Um, no offense meant, but why Seaford? icon_confused.gificon_confused.gif I live about 40 minutes north of Seaford, and I'd ask the same question if you were coming to my town too icon_lol.gif Today for excitement you could have sat in my backyard & watched the trucks harvest the corn in the fields, or watched (and laughed at) the tourists sitting in traffic on the highway. I'm not sure how far the beach is from Seaford, but it must be 45 minutes (on a good weekday with low tourist traffic). If you want to shop, you'll need to go south to Salisbury MD, north to Dover, or east to the outlets at the beach (Rehoboth). For the biggest variety I'd go for the outlets, but then you have to deal with the tourists. Tax free shopping in DE of course! There is a small zoo in Salisbury which does have a gigantic playground. Beware the tourist traffic when getting near the beach. We tend to not leave our house on weekends because it'll take all weekend to get anywhere icon_mad.gif And yes, there is no smoking allowed in restaurants in DE icon_biggrin.gif It's wonderful!

Lisa I was wondering the same thing but didn't want to be mean incase they were coming to visit family. My worst fear is that she's going to come in and say that they got a great deal on a hotel.... then I'd have to tell her to run for the hills lol. I didn't want to be rude for those who live IN Seaford... but from what I've seen there is nothing really nice there lol and the hotels are no better.

But I forgot all about the Outlets!

Also here in Easton... we don't leave on the weekends if we can help it either lol we normally spend a good 30 - 60 minutes in traffic just trying to get from one side of town to the other.... and it really ticks me off lmao

Okay, I think this calls for a DOS icon_biggrin.gif

I was just at the Salisbury Mall yesterday(great sales...spent too much), Ocean City Saturday before last (stuck in traffic for 2 hours) and Harrington Fair the last day of the fair...it rained for about 30 mins when we arrived and I lost $2.00 at the casino icon_cry.gificon_lol.gif .

I went to Dover Down's friday night for the seafood feast and it was yummy! but I ended up losing $60.00 of mom's money and $10.00 of my own at the casino lol... I decided from now on when she gives me money to play with it's going right in my wallet lol.

Well we stayed in Seaford because it was kind of in the middle of all the places we wanted to go. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and it was really really nice! We ended up going to just about every beach around there with only a 30 minute drive usually. We went to Rehobeth, OC, Asateague, Frontier Town, DC on the way to Seaford, We took the Lewes Ferry to Cape May and stayed in NJ. So we really had a lot of things to do! Luckily the Wal Mart was behind our hotel because I got a "female" surprise and was NOT prapared. lol. It really was a nice place but WOW you guys have a LOT of corn! It was every where you looked! lol
Overall it was a nice place and the people were very friendly!

Well glad you had fun! And it was probably a lot cheaper to stay there then at the other places. But not much in Seaford to do.
Yah, corn everywhere and chicken farms. Pu!
