The only reason I asked is because her first post said they asked her if she wanted to PARTICIPATE in the Welcome festivities. Participating didn't make it sound like a paid order to me. No way I would attempt an order that large on such a short notice if it wasn't paid.

Ooh, I would, in a heartbeat. Especially, if I had this many people offering to come help.

I think it would be wonderfully rewarding when it was all said and done. Just the smiles on the faces alone would be enough.

That's amazing! Good luck if you decide to do it!
Consider posting on craigslist fro help. Maybe hire a few people (maybe some college students) just to help with basic stuff- putting cupcake papers in the pans, putting/taking pans out of the oven, etc.
Good luck!

I didn't read all the posts... but have you considered renting/borrowing/begging a church kitchen? Or using the college cafeteria facilities after hours?

I would not do this at home. I have experience in high production. You will probably produce an inferior product and you may kill yourself in the process. This could hurt your business before it even starts. Find somewhere big! Buy lots of pans or use the nut cups. That's a great idea.

Do you think those college kids won't come to you for goodies if you aren't in the program? If you have a GREAT product at a reasonable price within walking distance, they will flock to you.
