I'm not living in Stockholm, thank goodness, but I do live in Sweden (Malmö).

First of all, you have to realize that when it comes to cake decorating, Sweden is stumbling along about 50 years behind the US.

Seriously. I am not joking. They only basically have one type of cake here and it is covered with bright green marzipan and is totally gross.

Decorating is making some slow inroads lately, but it is almost always regular people who are bit by the bug, never bakeries. They just plow on doing the same icky stuff they've nbeen doing for the last 75 years... no change. It feels great to be leading the trend.

I order lots from England. There are no customs charges due to EU, and since I have my own business so I don't have to pay VAT.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.

Would it be possible to share some the links you use to buy in UK?
Is it difficult to sell cakes in Sweden?

med vänliga hälsningar

Selling cakes in Sweden......

You absolutely are not allowed to sell any food made in the home.

First of all, i'd like to say welcome to Sweden. Nice to hear you're moving here. Unlike mezzaluna, I LOVE Stockholm, used to live there myself....
(OK, I like Malmö as well, used to live there too... )

You will find that there are some really enthusiastic cake decorators here, even though we are not any great number. Good to hear that you will be adding to that number.

I would recommend Tårtdecor for shopping here in Sweden. http://www.tartdecor.se/

From UK there are several. Just to mention a few:

Hope that helps!

Vad kul.... hur går det med affärerna? Gjorde du den tårtan med chokladplattorna?

Affärerna går bra. Det blev inget med den chokladtårtan, tack och lov. Jag hade inte lust att göra den. icon_rolleyes.gif
