Hi everyone I am a senior in high school and know that teaching is my calling. I wanted to know were there any elementary school teachers on here who do cakes on the side? And also the degree and certification seems like alot but is it worth it? My mom is a teacher. But I really want to do this. I want to teach 1, 2nd or 3rd grade. I am not nice enough for Kindergarten or Pre-K. Thanks

I teach music (in-school and afterschool) and do cakes on the side icon_smile.gif
It is a lot of work, and I love all my jobs equally.
And of course, if I ever want to get out of teaching, I'd do cakes full-time icon_biggrin.gif

Yes, I have taught 1st-4th and am now an ESL specialist- LOVE IT! Teaching is very rewarding and a great way to get cake customers. Just put some samples in the lounge and you'll get so many orders you won't know what to do. Give teaching a try and remember not all schools are created equal. I was determined to give up teaching after 7 horrible years but I switched schools...districts...towns and believe this is the best job a mom could have (if she has to work). thumbs_up.gif
