I am going to make a dora FBCT for a birthday cake but I am confused with the method. Once the image is filled in with BC how do you smooth the back of it as the instructions say. Do you just flip it over?

i usually don't smooth it until i add white icing with a flat icing tip, then with a hot knife i carefully smooth it...never had any problems.

I also smooth mine some more after I have applied the FBCT and it has crusted. I gently use my VIVA paper towel and smooth out anything else that didn't get smoothed out in the beginning. I thought I had lost two good FBCT one time, but the smoothed over beautifully after it had crusted.

I use wax paper to smooth it out. I lay the paper on and use a light finger touch if its a small fbct or a spatual for a larger one.
