My son will be 4. His dad is a lineman. He is sooo into powerlines, big trucks, poles etc. I'm totally blank on this one. Any ideas?

how about using pretzel rods and attatching black licorice rope with some royal icing and make power lines on the cake??? Maybe get a toy cherry picker truck?? That would be so cute. My Father in law is a lineman.....he actually got electrocuted once, lost his arm......but he still does it......crazy!!

I did my construction cake using sugarpaste lego pieces. I made the moulds but you can buy them on e-bay. I didnt have a clue what I was doing as it was my first cake. I made the men too and glued them together with edible glue. I bought a lego excavator as I'm just not that good. It looked excellent and everyone loved it (even though it was extremely flawed!). I continued the theme with red warning signs with age in center. You could make the trees in sugarpaste? Power lines with painted spagetti or just cheat and use florist wires?
