Two weeks ago I would have said sugarcraft as well, BUT I recently discovered a new site. I went looking b/c I needed a chocolate mold that was going to cost me almost $3 at Sugarcraft and nearly $8 to ship it!!!! WHAT????

So, I googled the mold I needed and found...

www.intotheoven.com

They have a lot of great stuff and it looks like they are adding stuff every day. They have NO HANDLING FEES. So, not only was the item cheaper, I had it shipped in 2-4 days for less than the regular $$ from sugarcraft. Additionally, my oder shipped LITERALLY within TWO HOURS of placing it (I had a total of 6 items). Placed order on Thurs and had the order on Sat.!!!

Oh yeah, and they advertise that they take PAYPAL too.

Nice site. I just wanted to see their shipping charges so I put a plastic choc mold in the cart for $2.14 and the shipping would be $9 for the cheapest rate--ouch!!! How much was your shipping? Maybe if I order more, it will be a better deal.

I just did the same thing you did and my cheapest shipping was only $4.61 for that one item. That is weird. They must charge based on how far it is being shipped or something (???). The order I placed was just under $30 and the cheapest way to ship is was $6.88 (and the package was 3.5 pounds). So I think you're right, if you buy more, it makes it more worth your while!!! Either way, it was still cheaper than Sugarcraft's shipping & handling on one item.

I order my boxes and boards from Candy, Cake & Wedding Supply Company - www.ccwsupply.com. They have really good deals on boxes and boards. Plus, a couple of weeks ago, I was in dire need of a special Wilton Performance Pan, found that they were out of stock, I told them I was in a dilemma and needed it for a wedding cake in a week.....they sold me one of their rental pans for 50% off. Now, is that customer service or what?

I will check out the other supply stores listed here...it is good to check out other options.

I just checked out Into the Oven (thank you for the tip!) and they sell plastic pans that they say can be used like the metal ones. Has anyone tried those? They're inexpensive, but I'd sure be afraid they'd melt all over my oven!

cakeatopia,

I ship out single molds every day and have never charged $9.00 for shipping. If you choose parcel post 4 to 7 days delivery it will usually be under $4.50 for shipping. UPS is a little more expensive but not as high as $9.00. I'm not sure why you were getting such a high dollar figure.

Best Regards!

kaste28, icon_smile.gif No they don't melt in the oven. You have to lower your baking temperature to 325 degrees but I think the majority of us bake at that temperature anyway. Thank you for your business!
