If I make the crisco only version I have made it weeks in advance. There is nothing in it that can go bad and make someone sick.

Just adding another opinion to agree with the above. I have a big acrylic container with a lid that I put my icing in and I keep my icing it in for a week or two..... meaning that I will make 7 or 8 batches, use what I need for the wedding that weekend and keep the rest for sample cakes and as a head start for any icing needs for the next weekend.

It keeps almost forever.
