I need a good vanilla and a chocolate recipe or recommendations for a mix. The cakes will be pillow cakes covered in fondant and with raspberry filling between the layers. Can I use a mix? I read about possibly using the BC French Vanilla mix. Is it dense enough? What about the coc. cake?

I like the Pillsbury white cake (the whole egg recipe) because it's dense compared to rest of the mixes I'v tried. Also, the DH devils food cake is awesome and I use it for all the chocolate cakes I do.
