Hi, i am wondering if anybody knows the trick to having a shiny frosting (it looks like lustre dust on fondant). I was going through some magazine at my bookstore (American Cake Decorator) and the cover has a ivory wedding cake with a cascade of grapes and roses all in ivory and white. This cake is cover in a shimmering buttercream, and i would love to know how todo it, so i can make my sister's wedding cake.

Thanks,

are you sure it is buttercream? Could it have been Poured Fondant? It has a shine to it.

I've heard of people airbrushing butter cream with luster dust... maybe this is it. It's hard to tell without seeing the picture.

It should have in front of the book what the cake on the cover is.
