Hye everyone! Tomorrow I'm making a chocolate ganache, but I want to know if I must use a steel bowl? will using a plastic bowl change the outcome? Thanx.

I made it in a tupperware bowl and it came out fine. HTH, Kristen

I just microwave it 30 seconds at a time and whisk between heatings... plastic bowl. I would use glass though... I think metal heats too quickly.

You can use plastic if you want to melt the chocolate in the microwave, but don't use it if you are melting the chocolate over hot water. Over hot water use either stainless steel or glass (must be heat proof) e.g pyrex
Also using steel bowl helps to retain the heat when you poor the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit thus ensuring all the chocolate melts.
