Great post! I just got done looking through all these cakes and everyone should be proud -- they're awesome!

I know I'm new at this and my cakes don't come close to comparing with most of the talent here (no pity party -- just honest truth), but I'm still pretty proud of them. I have only 3 cakes posted and they total many views but only 6 comments -- 1 of them my response. icon_smile.gif

Thanks for looking! Constructive criticism and suggestions welcome.

My computer is so slow(darn dial-up) that I haven't finished looking yet. But, the ones that I have viewed are just wonderful.

Mine would be this one because I didn't use a book pan, I had to carve it into shape, and the writing wasn't my usual horrible "mess up the cake now" writing. icon_redface.gif

I went through my photos not too long ago and deleted any that would fit into this category. icon_redface.gif I had quite a few. I would have hacked a few more but I didn't want to delete anything that was saved into someone's favorites. I probably would have posted my one and only wedding cake here. I was really proud of it. icon_biggrin.gif Hundreds of views, couple comments, not one saved to favorites but I'm OK with that. It really WASN'T that good. I was proud because I actually pulled it off. LOL

I made both of of these for a valentine party. I thought they turned out really good considering my limited training and artistic ability.

This is my favorite cake to make and it took the least amount of time as it was a cake I made on a whim for my boss and his fiancé. I was watching HGTV on a night that they were doing a lot of wedding stuff and I knew the following day was the last time I was working with my boss before he got married so at 10PM I decided to bake. I had the figures done by 11 and I got up at 7 to cover the cake and place the figures before leaving for work at 9.
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_629793.html

this cake I made this weekend for my moms birthday party. Although I was not as happy with the cake as I would have been had cakedeco.com not screwed me by having put my fondant order on backorder. The original concept was to have a the top and bottoms of the reels be fondant as well with silver luster dust and a large piece of the film wrapping around the cake with photos or my mother on it as if it were a film of her life. I was however ecstatically thrilled with how good betty boop turned out. (much better than my 1st attempt at betty which you can see in photos)
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_750793.html

and this cake although I dont like how the checkered part came out, I did carve that car freehand, no shaped character pans for me! It looked fabulous and I was thrilled with that.

Sandra80 - you have to enable your comments hun.

I love the checkerd part - it looks like a waving flag, I would have thought you did it on purpose!

I do have one I always felt was missed - I had a lot of fun with this one - has the least views of my cakes...

Thanks for doing this forum!! I have some kid's cakes that I was so proud of, and not many people had a comment for them. The pull-toy animal train was by far the hardest cake I've ever done, and we pulled an all-nighter trying to get it together. Then I also had my poodle cake inspired from a figurine I saw online. I had a few comments, but I thought people would like it better (190 views, only a few comments). So here's my pride and joys of cake!
