Wow, I love all the 3D cakes!!!! It's great to have so many on one thread...I haven't seen most of them.

3D cakes are my favorite cake to make and also what I get the most orders for. Here's a few of my best:

Thanks Noosie! Actually the baby blanket was pretty easy. I used these texture plates made by fiskars to get the impression in the fondant and then I cut out each quilt square and laid them on piece by piece. The back didn't come out as "clean" as the was much harder to do when I got down to where the blanket would fold naturally. It was the third baby cake I made so I had to think of a new challenge for myself, LOL.

Wow! These are all just stunning guys! I too LOVE sculpted cakes though have pictures of only two. icon_wink.gif Dying to try more!! I now have this problem where everything I see I think "Hey, bet that could be turned into a cake!" icon_lol.gif I know, I'm sure there is a 12-step program for that.... icon_wink.gif Here are my little beginner attempts at carving cake...

Thanks! I have my next one to start tomorrow for my son's 3rd b-day a "dinosaur-lizard" But after seeing all these dinos and dragons lately.... got that combo of inspired/intimidated icon_rolleyes.gif going on. Sheez!

You guys really rock at this! Amazing cakes. I've only made three. The castle was for a 10 year old girl's birthday. Her brother kept trying to open the castle door. The owl was just a copy from Deb Brown and the tree trunk elf cake was for Thanksgiving since I don't like traditional decorations.
