I want to make a graduation cap out of chocolate if possible. What can I do? I have tried to put some candy melts in a small bowl, but now I can't get it out. Do I need to coat my bowl with something or is there an easier way to do this?

I would appreciate any help I can get.

If you're using real candy melts, or coating chocolate, then you don't need to prepare your mold. Did you freeze the bowl to set the chocolate. Usually that sets the melts quicker and helps them to release. Otherwise you may just want to try a different bowl! I've used my cake pans as candy molds and never had any trouble getting them to release.
