Hi y'all! I made my first batch of cookies by using Penny's cookie recipe and Antonia's icing recipe. Since I have some animation drawing experience, I thought why not make my own animation character, so I drew a cute raccoon on a piece of paper and then I had my husband made a cookie cutter for me (I bought a homemade cookie cutter set from Off The Beaten Path website). I use fondant for flowers and leaves.
It took me to decorate this cookie for two hours and I was surprised how it turns out. I really enjoy it and I'm making some more this week. Right now, I'm working on a mouse with an umbrella.
Thank you, Cake Central and readers, for helping me to learn all about cookies!
YOUR FIRST COOKIE??!!! I can't even imagine what your 10th - 50th - or even your 100th will look like!! You did a great job.
great cookie, I am still WORKING on the perfect cookie taste, I just can't get one to save my life.... I am doing ok with the deco part, but not one to taste right, bakers error I know!
The cookie is darling. Great job. I too can take up to 2 hours to decorate a cookie, especialy when I'm trying out a new design. I just made 24 cookies that took me about 9 hours to decorate. LOL. That's pretty typical for me. Well worth the time though. Your second one probably won't take as much time.
that is an amazing cookie. i entered a contest with one of mine. they were shocked when i told them that one cookie could take up to 20 minutes. i love the detail in yours!!!!! great job
Thanks! I didn't realize how much frosting tips I needed, so I had to go out and get some more. I ended up with more than 6 tips to use for one color each. I use #2 tip to decorate and a squeeze bottle for the bigger part to fill.
Wow....frame that cookie! I hope after 2 hours you won't let anybody eat it!
It's fantastic!

Great job!! I am never telling anyone I know about this site--they are impressed by my cookies. If they saw yours(and others) cookies, they'd never want mine anymore.
WOW!
Thanks - glad you like my cookie. As I mentioned on the other post recently, I am still working on a mouse with an umbrella (work called, had to leave the house) and also do some Hollywood-themed cookies for our July's cookie club here.
Thats great, I cant believe that is your first cookie!! I cant wait to see your next one. Please do post.
Well done
holy moly, i think i will give up now, even though i have the cookie taste down pat, my icing is either to thin or to thick and takes me forever to get it descent..this one is incredible..
surfergina...it's a good thing you live in nc. i'd have to close my doors before i even opened them. your cookies are fabulous!!
Thanks, kneadacookie. I just posted a pic of my 2nd cookie - a mouse with a blue umbrella.
Great Job on the cookies. You will have to post the mouse you are working with. Keep up the wonderful job.
