This is the recipes I use:

Pound cake

4 cups of cake flour
3 cups of sugar
6 eggs
2 sticks of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of lemon extract
half a pint of whipping cream

Mix sugar and flour. add eggs one at a time. Places your butter in (which should be very soft) with your Vanilla and lemon extract. Mix well and add your whipping cream. bake at 325 until done.

That sounds delicious, but it also sounds like a lot of flour! When I make my pound cake, I beat the egg whites separately and then fold them into the batter..not sure if that helps or not!

How about brushing it with a simple syrup? Would that work?
