Hey...I just got this new Vitamix and it also whips up cake mixes. It seemed to be much easier than getting out my traditional equipment. Just a thought...

Isn't this a blender? I'd worry about too much air being whipped in and having the power needed. You tried it on a cake mix? Was it successful? I love my Kitchen Aid and had never thought of trying a blender. icon_eek.gif

I've had a vitamix for years and I use it SO much! It's the BEST!!!
I've never tried makign a cake in it though... hmmm.....

I kept it at a low variable speed and used that tamper. The cake turned out great!

I SOOO want a KA icon_cry.gif but they're in the 500 dollar range up here icon_eek.gif in my town anyway- about 300 in bigger cities/stores. Lots of saving to do to warrant spending that kind of money LOL, either that or I find rich generous friends befor emy next birthday icon_lol.gif or settle for Hamilton Beach which is almost 200 cheaper icon_rolleyes.gif
