My customer wants a filling in her doll cake, and I never gave it a thought until now, since I'm doing the cake tomorrow icon_confused.gif Is it too heavy since it's so deep?

In my clown cake my friend filled the cake and I think that it was a bit unstable. It was also a bit deformed, or at least that is what I thought. I hope that helps. icon_rolleyes.gif

I've done it recently with a doll cake & it worked out fine. I torted the cake twice & used a thicker filling (vanilla mousse) & then just stacked it & iced as usual. It worked fine & the customer was happy. Good luck with yours! icon_smile.gif

I have Bavarian cream in the sleeve. Should I (if I do) torte 1 or 2 times?
Would dowels help it not slide?

I've torted it 2x and used pastry fillings in the sleeves. Just use a stiff BC for the dam to help the layers stay together.

I would do dowels just to be safe. I had one slide at the filling, even though it appeared to be stable and stiff enough.
