I don't know if this subject has been brought up before, but I wanted to ask you and also share my favorites. I favor Jane Austin a lot, the English writer.

I LOVE these movies:

Romance & Drama

Pride & Prejudice (the 6 hour long version with Colin Firth)
Sense & Sensibility
Howards End
Persuasion
You Got Mail
Sleepless in Seattle
Immediate Family

Adventure & Suspense

Volcano
Dantes Peak
Asteroid
The Day After Tomorrow
The Day After
Deep Impact
Star Wars (all episodes)
The Chronicles of Riddick
Pitch Dark

And probably more but these are the ones that came to mind.

I love sci-fi stuff and disaster scenarios like Asteroid and Deep Impact whcih was the movie about the comet heading for earth.

I am a hopeful backyard astronomer that barely has time to practice the hobby, but LOVE space and stargazing.

How about you all? icon_smile.gif

Here are mine:

Pride and Prejudice (the long one)
Kelly's Heroes
The Great Santini (based on the novel by Pat Conroy)
Hunt for Red October
We Were Soldiers
Patton
Windtalkers
Saving Private Ryan
Anna and the King (with Jodie Foster)
Harry Potter (all 4)
Interview with the Vampire
Elizabeth
Stripes
Mary Poppins
Cinderella

My husband and I never can agree on what to watch. He doesn't like the girly stuff, hates to watch war movies with me because I tell him what's wrong with the haircuts and stuff and refuses to watch the "Great Santini" after the first time because I cry through it. He likes stuff like American Pie and the X-Men and I don't like them. icon_lol.gif

My all time favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice the A & E version. I have the new one and even the older BBC one, but the A & E version is the best and the most like her book of all 3. I love Jane Austen and have all of her "movies". If you like those movies, then you'lll definitely like Emma. The one with Gwyneth Paltrow. There are some mistakes that annoy me, but once I get over them, I enjoy watching it. I have watched the A & E version over 20 times at least. thumbs_up.gif

How funny! I always feel like I'm being so indulgent when I see a movie as a girls night out or with my hubby on a date night. I used to see movies ALL THE TIME before kids . . . now it's such a sacred, special treat! My hubby laughs that I'm an easy / cheap date. He knows that if he really wants to impress me or make my day, he just needs to take me out for Italian (he normally isn't a big fan so we don't eat pasta often when we go out) and then to a chick flick and then I feel like such a princess!
