A Basic Question About Servings

I feel dumb asking this, but here goes: On the directions for my 11/15 pan, it says it will feed 82; how could you feed 82 people on two cake mixes worth of cake?? Are they talking really small slices?
And, when they say 2 layer cake, do they mean one cake that has been split and filled or 2 cakes, one on top of the other?
I am going to feed about 20, plus kids... but not teeny slices!

Above is a link where I've "done the math" on servings for sheet cakes. If they are saying 82 servings, they HAVE to be talking a 2-layer cake.

I consider a 2-layer cake as two cakes on top of each other with some kind of filling or icing between them. A one layer that's been cut, filled and re-stacked: I refer to that as a one-layer-torted.

Weird! My Wilton yearbooks say a 2-layer 11x15 sheet cake should feed 60. Those are 1½x2 inch slices.

Though, I just made an 11x15 one-layer last night to feed 40, but half of those are kids, so it should be plenty.
