I found this site yesterday and I LOVE IT!! I've already learned so much and I've not even made a dent in the forums yet! I even figured out the elusive Viva method last night!!

So now I hope I can borrow some creativity for an upcoming project I agreed to do. I've got a friend who requested a manatee cake for her mother's 60th birthday party. It needs to feed 70 people. A lot of the water themed cakes I've seen in the gallery seem too childish for the occasion. Any suggestions?

Hi! Welcome to CC! I am glad you have joined in the fun! How about a frozen buttercream transfer of a manatee on the cake? Or a gumpaste mantee on a marbelized (sp?) fondant cake? Good luck and post pictures.
