Does anyone know if Wilton has a 3D (stand up) Motorcycle pan?
Someone challenged me to do a 3D Harley Cake. Anyone got any other ideas?
Maybe you could use the Wilton motorcycle pan to make a 3D cake. Just bake two cakes with the pan and glue them together by icing the back (smooth side) of the cake.
I'm not sure if this would work but it was a thought that I had in mine myself. My dad loves harley's too.
Wilton.com says that the motorcycle pan has been discontinued! But, it wouldn't work anyway to glue them together because they would have to face opposite directions to turn them around and match up...but great idea...maybe I can find a way to work around it. Thanks Agent.
Any more ideas?
I don't know how artistic you are but how about scuplting/carving a motorcycle cake. I imagine that would be pretty tough but definitely possible!
Not very artistic, but that is looking like my only option. I might have to try it. Any ideas on what size cake to bake for that?
How about using loaf pans...and stack two of them to get the height. You could use a plastic or wooden dowel, pushed in from side to side, then covered with icing, to make the handle bars. Just a thought!
Another idea. I have a book called "Creative Celebration Cakes". It has a picture of a 3D motorcycle. But you would have to carve you cake just as MrsMissey mentioned. It has step by step instructions.
Who is the author, so I can look for it?
