OK--adorable baby shower cakes! But how are the footprints, or more specifically, the toes, formed?
TIA!

and here's Doug's answer in this thread...

taking hint from the old footprints on the blackboard games kids used to love to do in school before the advent of whiteboards...

if doing in paint...little dots of color done w/ paintbrush

if doing in icing...little dots of icing smooshed w/ cornstarch dipped finger.

if doing in fondant...little circles in varying sizes cut out using various round tips, slight squished for more oval shape then applied to cake.

if wanting embossed look, the handle tip end of varying sizes of artist brushes.

and -- i bet -- tho' haven't really looked for one yet, that in the stamping section of your favorite craft store there is a foot print stamp. ink it up w/ food coloring.

and i wouldn't be at all surprised to find a chocolate candy mold, like this one==> http://www.cakesnthings.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1797

could get a real baby and do real foot print...
naw...too icky -- cute -- but icky!
