I just started working with gum paste. I made a baby for a shower cake but as it dried it started to crack. Does any one know how to fix it or prevent this from happening. I would love some input.
Please help

Sometimes thicker objects dry quickly on the outside, and crack. You can use a 50/50 mixture of fondant and gumpaste to slow the drying down. You can also add some shortening to the GP, or brush the exterior of the item with a tiny bit of shortening. Keep the object away from drafts to slow the drying process.
