My husband was told today that friday is his last day at work.
He has worked for hp for over 6 years and they're letting him go just like that......We have already bought plane tickets to go to florida to celebrate our anniversary and now we need to cancell that. I am so overwelmed but don't show it to him really because he is already so stressed and looking for a job.
We need a prayer please!

Thank you all for listening (reading this)
I already feel like i know you all and feel that all of you are my family.

Prayers for you both, something will come along just when you think otherwise! Stay positive! And celebrate your anniversary in a smaller way, just new plans.

Hang in there......I know personally how hard it is to lose a job for no fault of your own...things will work out. I hang on to the saying that when God closes a door he opens a window.....stay focused on Him and it will be okay. I'll be praying for you!

This happened to my DH almost a year ago. I know exactly what you are feeling, and it can be overwhelming for sure! Keep reminding your hubby that he is awesome and that you love him. He needs the extra assurance right now. Don't be afraid to let him know that you are concerned, but try to keep your spirits up. As many have already said, God will guide you through this. I will keep you both in my prayers, and hope that something even better comes along quickly!
If you need a little pep talk in the meantime, we're all here for you!

We went through this a little over a year ago. They found out he was looking for a new job and let him go. We were so broke! We lived on unemployment! Things are much better now and I even fondly remember getting to spend more time with him. He even got to see our youngest take his first steps! Little blessings in disguise! You never know what the Lord has planned for you. have faith and enjoy the little moments that come your way!

You will come thru it and be stronger for it. I am keeping you in my prayers as well. Always remember sometimes there is truth in the old saying "Sometimes it gets darkest right before the dawn". If you need someone to talk to I am here! God Bless and keep you!

KayDay Posted 26 May 2005 , 7:01am

Same here if you need a shoulder...I got a couple of them! Good luck!

flayvurdfun Posted 26 May 2005 , 12:15pm

Sounds like we all are behind you... but keep this in mind.... that is what unemployment is for until he finds another job.... things will be fine... I know someone who worked for Dupont for like 15+ years and he was let go also earlier in the year but his unemployment was pretty much his regular paycheck and now is working for Microsoft..... making a little more then he was at Dupont...

thecakemaker Posted 26 May 2005 , 12:56pm

I know you are in a scary situation but things will work out. I've been there and might be headed there again. Something will come along and it will be better! You are in all of our prayers. If you don't want to burden him right now just know that we are here for you. Feel free to PM or e-mail if you need or just want to talk.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure it will all work out for your family. If he needs any help with resume review, please email me, I would be happy to take a look and offer suggestions for improvement. Here is my email, msumissa@yahoo.com

I can't check it while I am at work, but I do check it at home regularly.

God Bless

I am sorry to hear that. I know it's hard to believe, but things will get better. I came out from work a year and a half ago to find a note in my car that said that my husband (of 28 yrs!), was on his way to Florida with a van full of furniture and things. Needless to say, I was completely shocked and in shock for quite a while, to the point of losing 22 pounds (and considering I'm only 5' tall, that's alot). I have 3 boys (18, 22,25); and I wouldn't have made it without them. My youngest son just finished his 1st year of college (for which I'm the only one paying), with a 3.83 grade average! I've met someone who is a great guy and treats me wonderfully. They say that everything happens for a reason, and while it's hard to understand that reason some time, you have to believe that it all will work out.

i'm sorry to hear about that. icon_sad.gif i hope it's not long before he finds another job.

ntertayneme Posted 26 May 2005 , 7:38pm

My mom always use to tell me when I was down about something, "just look over your shoulder. There are others much worse off than you are." And you know, she's right .. I've passed this own to my daughter, who deals with depression at times. When I tell her this, she gets angry but later comes back to tell me that she has seen someone in worse condition than she's ever been and how she felt bad for thinking her situation was not so good ... Long story short, I know things look bleek, but God closes a door, only to open a window... he has a plan for your husband's life as he does for all of us.. you may not see it now because of the clouds of situation presently in your lives, but these clouds are only temporary .. the sun will shine again; your husband will find another job .. always believe this icon_smile.gif remember, we're all here for you icon_smile.gif

melissablack Posted 26 May 2005 , 8:45pm

I'm so sorry this happened to you. That happened to us a couple years ago, Dh lost his job one day, out of the blue, and we ended up having to move, but now he has a job making way more than he did before, where his bosses all love him and he is near the top of the ladder already.

Just hang in there and I hope that something else comes up very soon.

Hugs,

Hi Ashiana! I have been there and I know the feelings, but as I looked towards God, He made it plain to me that "No good thing He will withhold from me if I just only look to Him" It might seem impossible right now, "but with God all things are possible" Matt. 19:26. I remember when my unemployement was running out and I had an apartment to take care of and ulitilies to pay for and no health insurance and was almost evicted from my apartment cause I had come up short in my rent, but God saw my needs and help was on its way that when I went to court, the rent had already been paid and the judge said to the superintendent that next time when a settlement is reached don't bother to come into the court room. I was pleased with the outcome and from that point on God demonstrated what He was able and can do for me. Ashiana and Hubby, just be encouraged and know that God knows all about what you are going through and this is just a hurdle for you to take a leap of faith over that hurdle knowing that there is a blessing awaiting for you on the other side. Keep the Faith and look up with a Smile cause there is a blessing awaiting for you on the other side.

momsandraven Posted 27 May 2005 , 3:41am

Ashiana, I think it is really wonderful that you and hubby can start off with a positive attitude. Good for you for rising to the challenge! It will make all the difference in the world.
Still praying for quick resolution,
Beth

Ashiana,

Since your not going on the anniversary trip...... can you come to the DOS? Just joking & trying to make you laugh!! icon_lol.gif

My hubby got out of active duty AF in 1992 because of Clinton cutting back on troops. thumbsdown.gif We had to start over. He worked at a maxium security prison for 6 mths then was hired at a Sunbeam/Oster plant so he quit the prison. I was so happy for that because it was a very dangerous job at the prison. He was at Sunbeam for 6 years then Sunbeam closed down. He worked at a papermill plant for 6 wks & it liked to have killed him. None of those jobs were in God's plans! He was hired 6 wks later at the AF base in Bossier!! He is now in the Civil Service there & also in the AF Reserves. He loves his job & it keeps us fed & clothes on our backs. We are surely blessed!! We always look back at those hard times & wonder how we got through them. Well I am happy to say we both know how! God was helping us all the way!

We still get in some binds from time to time. God always helps us through! So hold tight to your faith & everything will be ok. Thank God for all your blessings even the small ones.

I'll be praying for you & your family. Hang in there!

ps... You coming to the DOS or not icon_wink.gif I had to add that!! icon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif

Blessings!!

What a window that's been opened for you as ntertaynme mentioned! Congratulations to your husband and to you for being supportive of him during this!!!

There's always a silver lining in those dark clouds, it's just whether or not you see it to find it.

p.s....now go to the DOS at turtles!!! icon_smile.gif

briansbaker Posted 7 Jun 2005 , 5:03am

Well good for you!!!!!!!!!!! prayers are always heard.

debsuewoo Posted 7 Jun 2005 , 5:14am

Prayer with faith is an awesome thing, isn't it? b I know in my own life that God has given me many hurdles to jump but I have always found the blessings He had in store for me with each hurdle. It's to the point where I know that I don't even have to ask because I know He has me and my family covered. Don't get me wrong though... I may not have to ask, but I usre like to give thanks and praise!

tcturtleshell Posted 7 Jun 2005 , 6:29am
