I'm so excited they actually coame out almost like I was hoping they would. This would make a great Cinderella cake wouldn't it??
Yes they would be great for Cinderella! With a tiny sugar shoe halfway up. Debbie Brown did one that could be adapted. Would look nice with a red carpet for an opening or star studded event too! (edited to say Debbie not Debboe!!)
Thanks all. It's going to be a graduation cake have made arch shaped "windows" for each step that will represent each year of school. The carpet is blue because the school colors are blue and grey. I made a cookie figre, but I might change it to a fondant figure dressed in cap and gown for the top and I have little items that will be strewn along the stairs like books and different things that are meaningful to the graduate.
i'm so glad you like them!! Thx.
Wow they look great! I would love to be brave enough to try these, could lead to all sorts of great looking cakes!
You could adapt that for several different themes of cakes. I think it would make a beautiful base design for a wedding cake. Make sure to post a picture of the final cake. Thanks for sharing.
For some reason the picture isn't showing up in my album so here it is. The stairs took a about an hour. Took a few minutes to figure out . I just delivered the cake and the woman paid me almost double what I charged her. She loved it and wanted to say "thank-you"!
Thx for the nice compliments.
Thanks!!
OK tried to make the pic smaller but it wouldn't work for some reason. Sorry!
Thanks everyone. That praise for all of you really means a lot!!!!
I actually took the idea from a Wilton cake from last year. It was a Halloween cake that I morphed to suit the occassion.
GREAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT JOB!! I love it! Hope you don't mind me borrowing this idea some day. LOL
Spectacular cake! What a great starting place for SO many different themes...PLEASE consider a tutorial for us
Great job! I was wondering how you were doing with this cake??!!
