I am making 3 cakes for 3 birthdays on the 4th of July. My friend says I can make them ahead and freeze them and that it is easier to frost a frozen cake. I am going to tort the layers and fill with mousse. My question is should I tort the layers before I freeze them. Can I add the mousse and frosting to a frozen cake? Any repercussions as the cakes thaw? Thanks in advance for your help.

i freeze my filled cakes all the time, its way easier to ice a frozen cake too.. also it sets the mouse faster too so ur cakes not sliding around when u ice it. i dont freeze my cakes once they are iced though, they sweat too much when they thaw and when you decorate colors will bleed.
