Safari party is over! Twelve 3 year olds is quite a riot! Unfortunately, it was wet so they didn't get to go outside, but we made do. The cake was a big hit. LOTS of leftovers.

How did I do it?
The animals and leaves are all fondant, made about 2 weeks prior and left to dry. The palm trees with pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and dried with big drip piles which because the surface to "glue" the leaves onto.
Dawns BC icing. YUM! First time I tried that.
What else...I never did get the piping gel to work, so I just bought a little tube at the supermarket and sort of painted it on top.
Rocks were chocolate river rocks.

I love this cake! Lots of good ideas to copy for future cakes. I'm saving it in my favorites file.
