You can use 2 bundt type pans, then cut both cakes in half cut a wedge shaped piece off one half for the head. Alternate the halves in an "s" pattern, carve the tail to a point. I used bc to frost then used fruit rollups for the tongue, small round candies for the eyes. I made this for my daughter's birthday a couple of years ago. I don't have a picture but I was a big hit! I saw on a either on this site or somewhere that someone make a snake cake by using cupcakes.

Here is a link to a cool snake cake. You can go to the search feature and type in cake. Then click view more photos above the pictures that come up. It will take you to the photo galleries. One I've seen formed the snake body out of cake balls filling and then covered it with fondant scales.
