This has come up a few time in the recent past, but I don't think anything actually came of it yet (to my knowledge anyway).

So ... who's in? And how do we go about getting started? Figuring out a place to meet maybe. Royal Oak-ish area is fairly central, but I'm not overly familiar with it myself.

I'd really love to see something come together and get involved.

Does anyone here belong to this group?

I was looking to set up a page there and found the link.

I'm in the Lansing area and too far away to get involved in a SE Mich club, but good luck.

I don't belong to that group but I'd be interested if something gets put together... icon_smile.gif

Thanks for organizing!

Hey, thanks for the info. I live in Lambertville, MI in Monroe county, which is about 5 min. from the Toledo, Ohio/Michigan line. So it might be a little far for me but I will check it out. icon_smile.gif

Angelcakesmom, I'm in Lambertville, MI too! icon_surprised.gif I live right off of summerfield road.

The club probably would be to far for me--but I might be able to do it this summer.

Definitely count me in! I'm in Westland (halfway between Detroit and Ann Arbor) but am willing to do some traveling.

I'd never heard of that group, I'm gonna check it out!

I am near Port Huron, I would be willing to travel some. My only draw back would be my work schedule. I hope something does come together, that would be cool.

I am in the Detroit area meetup group. We should have another meetup coming soon. Last thing we had was a picnic meetup, I didn't go thinking I would go try out for deal or no deal. What was I thinking? We have lots of fun when we meet, usually last about 3 hours. We've done so far cookie bouquets, working with marshmallow fondant, and flowers. Looking forward to nextup. Organizer is very nice and organized. Maybe you can join us.

I'd love to get involved too but don't know if my schedule would give me enough time between working full time, son in soccer, hitting the gym and all those other extras. Definitely need more hours to the day icon_lol.gif

Sounds good to me--I belonged to another group, but in the last year interest have really fallen off, so I am really hoping this idea takes off. I'm in Farmington

Where would we meet? With that much interest we'd have to rent a hall or something.

I wonder where the most central location would be??

I'm interested too! I am in Ida, MI (for those who said they are in Lambertville/ Summerfield!), but I work in Bloomfield Hills, so I'm up for anything between here and there!

Maybe if we get a list of cities started it woud help figure out where the middle is. I'd be willing to help out in anyway I can. Should we start pm'ing to someone?

I'm interested too. I live about 20 miles south of Cadillac but I work full time in Pontiac. Let me know if anything gets set in stone. Thanks, Laura

I'm thinking about the logistics of this. First, let's say we have 25 people from all over Michigan who are interested. Chances of finding someone centrally located with a house that can accomodate 25 cake decorators is pretty slim. So we'd have to rent a hall or hotel. I know this is done with the Michigan chapter of ICES two or three times a year. They have the Spring and Fall Days of Sharing and the August classes in Lansing. And on top of all that, do we want this to be "organized" something like ICES is, with newsletters, membership fees, Annual Reports, etc. etc.? Those are just some of the things we'll need to work out. So who's with me??icon_lol.gif

As I said, I'm totally in! I had in mind a casual get together. Never even occured to me to form an actual "membership" group.
