I am making a black forest cake. one of the key ingredients is to use alot of whip cream for the frosting. My problem is i want to cover it with michelle foster's fondant; which is usually a buttercream frosting under fondant. Can i use a whip cream icing under fondant; since whip cream usually melts if not frozen. Please help!!! making this cake today for tomorrow.

I have covered all kinds of frostings with fondant and it works pretty well. (Thank goodness for fondant!) If I were you I would give it a shot.

Real whipped cream will cause your fondant to melt (ask me how I know!!). I would use it as a filling, and then regular buttercream for icing under the fondant. Sometimes there are sacrifices to be made for design icon_smile.gif

Make sure the cherries don't come in contact with the fondant either!
