I've had them in my favorites for quite some time and I thought it best to share. They have free fonts and once I've downloaded them into the computer I print out my "Happy or Merry whatever" backwards then use Piping Gel and apply it to my cake and so on.

My favorite is the font that Cake Central used and I found it on Wanted Fonts. It's called Caffe Latte.

www.1001freefonts.com

www.larabiefonts.com

www.fontfoundry.com

www.simplythebest.net/fonts

www.houseoflime.com

The font sites i use most, ESPECIALLY house of lime. They have this geisha font thats actually little framed drawings. Lots of unique ones on it, outside of your typical ones. 1001freefonts is my go-to site for most projects, they have a "Coca-Cola" font, a "Star Wars" font, you name it, they've faked it. I used the Star Wars font for a Darth Vader cake and the customer was impressed to no end!

You put wax paper over the backward printout, line it with piping gel, place it on your cake and press lightly to transfer the gel. Remove the paper and use the gel as a guideline for your icing.

You should be able to "mirror" or reverse image it in your "Tools" bar uptop. Frankly, I print it out and turn the paper over most time.

Yay!!!
My writing on cakes always stinks!! I usually have my hubby do it, but when he isn't around (alot) I am forced to do it myslef and in my opionion it ruins my cakes!!
So, one more question. When you use the piping gel... do you use just the clear stuff? And then Ice over it with regular icing?
Thnaks Again everyone!!

I usually color it a tinge, so I can see it, usually yellow. It gets covered so its not a big deal.

Thanks! I'm another one who struggles with writing on cakes. Printing is the best I can do. You might as well forget anything else. I can't wait to try this!
